Happy New Year 2008

Happy New Year! This year I did NOT wake up with a hangover… instead I feel extremely optimistic and am ready to roll up my sleeves and work our plan for 2008. Tonight or tomorrow morning I will do something I have never done before: figure our net worth. Yes, this is another multi-blog project LOL and it should be rather interesting to see just how we come out in the numbers game. Since I usually post around lunch time for most of y’all I should be able to link up to several other posts to make for some very interesting reading.
Today I drive to just above Louisville to pick my son up as my mother is bringing him halfway. Hopefully they will be able to blast my brother out of bed since I haven’t seen him in about five years. He lives out in Arizona.
Even with Murphy hitting the pizza taxi in December, and the repair bills, we will still be hammering the truck note so keep an eye on that chart in the sidebar! I still owe NCN Network a guest post about just how much that little chart means to me, because it truly is motivational to see that slice of debt still owed dwindle each month.
I am thinking about playing with some numbers, just to add up how much debt we’ve eliminated in 2007, plus how much tuition we’ve cash flowed during the big debt reduction over the year. Or maybe I’ll wait a little to get the tax forms from my college and the mortgage company. I’ve got over 7 hours in the truck today to figure that one out.
For those of y’all who ARE hung over this morning: drink Gatorade (TM) or water and avoid acetamenophen (Tylenol (TM)) to feel better. And next year drink a glass of water in between the alcoholic beverages so you don’t get hung over to begin with LOL Yeah, I’ve had more than enough experience on this subject…

My New Year’s Eve Day: a biological treatment at the cancer center, a nice long Benadryl induced nap, woke up at 8 pm, went to a friend’s house, didn’t drink but danced enough until 3 a.m. to make my body ache for days! My voice is shot from singing and screaming too. Woo hoo that was a fun party.
Now to the numbers: yeah, I love the occasional net worth snapshot. Very encouraging. I also like retirement calculators because I’ve always done that right–I am already at a level to never eat Alpo, guaranteed, and I only have to make modest returns to beat my salary at retirement! (Make more in retirement than I did working.) No giving out carts at the Wal-Mart for me.
Crunching the numbers, charting progress, is so good. Have fun with it, and raise a glass to congratulate yourself on a job well done. Keep running the race, we’re cheering you on!
