Super Savings
Super Savings and the class preview…those were what we filmed tonight! Just not in that order LOL We got to a late start, mainly due to lighting issues…but that was a good thing since I was almost late thanks to I-65 south being a “parking lot” as one radio station described it. I’ll save y’all my usual grump-rant about Nashville traffic!
The class previews was a quick summary of the whole Financial Peace University class…with SEVEN different endings! That’s right, Dave Ramsey did the final two minutes of the preview seven different ways: the generic for-the-public one, one specifically for churches, one specifically for the military (that would be MY family!), one for the workplace, one for bank and credit union sponsored classes which surprised me, one for non-profits like homeless shelters, abuse shelters, and subsidized housing, and the biggest surprise of all: one for correctional facilities (prisons) especially since he said there are over 11,000 inmates up in Oregon who are taking FPU!
After a “two minute” break that lasted at least fifteen minutes because the women’s restroom was NOT big enough for all of us at once LOL we got into the “Super Savings” class, which is again week one. One of his stage props was a huge pink pig…and yes he had a lot of fun joking about that while waiting for the camera crew to change tapes. He messed up the “poopy diaper” joke twice, then poked fun at himself, saying “I’ve told that joke over a THOUSAND times in live events and have NEVER messed it up before…now I can’t seem to say it right tonight!” And yes he had The Scissors…and the entire crowd cheered when he cut up that Visa card.
The tech crew was doing interviews in the lobby after the show, and of course I waited to ham it up for the camera. I suspect they still had the camera rolling when I shared my motivation: they simply MUST use one of my segments for the videos so I can make my reluctant husband watch! Since tonight was about the emergency fund, I shared my experience with having an emergency fund and being able to handle the two times Murphy’s Law has struck.
I almost forgot to mention: the new Financial Peace University workbook is now hardbound and looks really cool and professional! They handed out a sheet with three or four corrections, so those of us nerds in the audience won’t try to say Dave Ramsey forgot a blank or said something wrong LOL although those errors will be corrected for the next run of workbooks.
